Job Description

At ServiceNow, our Accessibility Engineering team is responsible for ensuring our products are delivered with features that support accessibility. Additionally, we help drive accessible practices throughout our organization by partnering with key leadership and their teams. We also fundamentally believe that accessibility is not a checklist , but a careful, persona driven approach to enabling all users and ultimately enhancing the user experience.

 

At ServiceNow, our Accessibility Engineering team is responsible for ensuring our products are delivered with features that support accessibility. Additionally, we help drive accessible practices throughout our organization by partnering with key leadership and their teams. We are looking for a driven, committed self-starter whose goal is to elevate the customer journey by improving how accessible our products are. The ideal candidate is also aware that accessibility is a drive towards empowering all our users to have the same shared great experience.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluates internal products to determine scope of accessibility violations and provides recommendations on implementation solutions
  • Conducts accessibility testing against current accessibility guidelines and requirements
  • Utilizes both manual test techniques and automated tools to conduct testing
  • Support team members across the organization to provide guidance on accessibility testing
  • File defects for accessibility violations discovered and work with development teams resolve them
  • Supports both development and post-production issues and works to resolve any barriers
  • Creates and publishes internal materials such as training guides, knowledge articles or other that is intended to educate and inform
  • Works with junior members of the team to mentor and guide them
  • Evaluate new tools for possible support

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in computer technology or related studies
  • Minimum of 3-5 years working in a field related to accessibility
  • Strong knowledge of various assistive technology such as screen readers (JAWS/NVDA/VoiceOver), screen magnification software (ZoomText) and speech recognition tools (Dragon Speech Recognition)
  • Strong knowledge of automated accessibility scanning tools such as axe, lighthouse or other
  • Expert knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Section 508
  • Strong understanding of WAI-ARIA authoring practices
  • Evaluate new tools for possible support

FD21

For positions in California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of $106,020 - $180,180, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors
