About the Job
As a Co-op mRNA Systems Engineering Intern within our Systems team at Sanofi's mRNA Center of Excellence, you'll spend 6 months developing software to support cutting-edge R&D work for mRNA-based vaccines targeting a variety of diseases. You'll assist in creating pipelines and applications for screening and designing mRNA sequences and other vaccine components, while also helping maintain and upgrade our central repository of machine learning models and modular components. Main responsibilities:
Collaborate with other team members on active code bases
Learn and apply industry-standard engineering best practices
Collaborate with stakeholders in the broader mRNA Center of Excellence (COE) to help ensure the business needs of the organization are being met
Assist and train software users as needed
Develop pipelines and applications to assist in the screening and design of mRNA sequences and other vaccine components
Help maintain and upgrade a central repository of machine learning models and other modular components for use in design pipelines
About you
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled and pursuing bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or related field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by the Spring of 2027
Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship/co-op with Sanofi
Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship
Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship
Proficient in Python
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows
Some experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools
Excellent attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to quickly orient to a new code base
Familiarity with the training and lifecycle of machine lea
