In this position...
This is an opportunity to work on engines and fine tune them with computers. This is a "Gear Head" with computer skills dream job.
What you'll do…
Plan & conduct FEA/CAE analyses of engine components/systems with respect to multibody dynamics, durability & NVH attributes
Provide design direction & recommendations for the design of engine components/systems based on results obtained from FEA/CAE/Optimization analyses.
Apply analytical reliability & robustness methodologies to optimize engine components and systems
Apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve engine components CAE guideline/procedures.
Collaborate with components/systems engineers to provide design direction and confirmation to achieve targets for performance, quality, function, weight and cost
Support expedited concern resolution with cross functional teams including the design, manufacturing, quality, etc.
Collaborate with components/system engineers to resolve engine components/systems issues for both prototype and production programs
Closely work with components, tech specs & tech leaders in identifying new & updated methodologies that can further improve component/system design and contribute towards DV efficiency objectives.
Apply & use Excite Power Unit, Excite Designer, Valdyn, Hyperworks, iSIGHT, Optistruct, SimLab, MATLAB, CATIA, GT Suite, HPC, Nastran, Abaqus, FEMFAT, Advanced MS Office suite (Excel & PowerPoint), Unix/Linux
You'll have...
Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
2+ years of industry experience in the following:
Dynamic modeling of engine components &/or subsystems
Behavior/prediction of dynamic & NVH performance of mechanical systems under mechanical, thermal and vibration loading
Optimization of engine components &/or subsystems for performance, durability, quality, weight and cost
Heat transfer modelling & it’s impact on engine components and subsystems
Utilization of Six Sigma tools
2+ years of experience in using/applying CAE dynamics and optimization methods in design & development of internal combustion engine components and subsystems
Even better, you may have…
PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
Proficiency in use of problem-solving tools (Six Sigma, DOE, Controls Theory, etc.)
Six Sigma Green Belt trained or preferably Six Sigma Black Belt certified
Exceptional proven problem solving ability
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Experience working with engineering team in a global setting/regions
Comfortable working in an environment where problems are not always well-defined, and keen about learning new tools, methods and techniques
