Job Summary

The Staff Accountant role requires a high level of productivity and the ability to work autonomously. The level of work Connie’s staff performs is held to high standards and key traits like task management, problem solving, and clear and timely communications are paramount.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting procedures and works closely with the Director of Finance & Administration to support financial reporting and compliance with regulations and accounting guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

• Perform the monthly financial close in collaboration with the Director of Finance & Administration.
• Update the supporting schedules and maintain underlying accounting transaction support.
• Administration of the accounts receivable function, inclusive of set-up, invoicing, payment follow-up and application, associated tracking and analyses.
• Administration of the accounts payable function, inclusive of set-up, initial review of invoice details, obtaining approvals, processing payments, and associated tracking and analyses.
• Assist in the development of budgets and projections, including related support and analyses.
• Assist in the creation and upkeep of written accounting procedures.
• Provide support during the annual audit.
• Perform ad hoc analyses and management reporting, as needed.

• Intermediate level Microsoft Office application experience required, particularly with Excel.
• High level of organization and communication skills.
• Operate in an efficient, effective, and responsive manner.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and change course, as necessary.

Experience and/or Education Requirements

• A minimum of 4-6 years in an accounting role, or equivalent is required.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online is a plus.
• Experience with Bill.com is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits Package 

• Targeted base salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications, plus benefits and bonuses.
• Benefits include the following but are not limited to health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. CSS also has a 403(b) plan with discretionary employer match and contributions. You will be eligible for 20 days of Paid Time Off per year (accrued in accordance with CSS' policies). PTO is in addition to 8 company designated holidays. If you are not PTO eligible, you may be eligible for applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave in accordance with the provisions of any applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave laws.
