As a Research Associate in the Process Development group, you will use your skills in molecular biology in the development of NGS products. Your work will include collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, information management, and QC teams to support manufacturing and QC processes. You will report to the Director of Process Development and will work cross-functionally with other teams to develop, verify and validate all new processes in this lab based position.
Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally to gain thorough understanding of new products and transform knowledge into production processes and methods for product production and reagent kit manufacturing.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO 13485) including documentation practices and adherence to protocols
- Execute experimental plans with guidance from experienced scientists. Record & analyze data. Present results & conclusions cogently.
- Test automated process tracking tools as an end user
- Write technical documents including work instructions, batch records, SOP’s and training documents for manufacturing & QC operators
- Learn current product production workflows and provide support/troubleshoot as needed
Qualifications
- BS. or M.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Bioengineering, or related field
- Background in molecular biology techniques including PCR, DNA purification, DNA quantification, molecular cloning, NGS sequencing.
- 0-2 years industrial experience in biotechnology product development and/or technical transfer; ability to support new products initiatives (NPI) and/or continuous process improvements (CPI) in a biotechnology or life sciences company
- Proficiency with logic, statistical, and formatting functions using GoogleSheets and/or Microsoft Excel
- Experience in automation (e.g. liquid handling) is a plus
- Thrives in fast paced work environment; strong work ethic
