This position is in Mounds View, MN. within the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) unit. At Medtronic, we bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we do. We are working on-site 4 days per week as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary. This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

A Day in the Life     

  

In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Principal Software Cloud Test Engineer role. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

The Principal Software Cloud Test Engineer will serve as the technical leader and be responsible for architecting, designing, building, and scaling software release management and configuration management system across the full technology stack consisting of cloud services (AWS), Windows application, and system integrations. This role combines deep hands-on engineering expertise with architectural leadership, technical decision-making, and mentorship.

The Principal Software Cloud Engineer drives technical strategy, ensures engineering excellence, and partners closely with product teams and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions. In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Principal Software Engineer role. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Lead and align all test engineers, ensuring consistent application of standards, patterns and best practices across multiple engineering teams.
• Define and own the test architecture and automation strategy for cloud-native platforms, including microservices, API’s, event-driven systems and data pipelines.
• Evaluate and introduce modern tools, frameworks and methodologies to continuously improve quality engineering capabilities.
• Ensure execution of test plans and verification activities, actively monitoring progress, risks and quality outcomes to support delivery commitments.

• Establish and maintain full traceability from software requirements through verification test design, execution and reporting.
• Build a culture of shared ownership of quality across development and test engineering.
