The Lead Medical Receptionist receives and correctly routes incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors so that all callers/visitors are attended to promptly, courteously, and accurately.The Medical Receptionist Lead performs advanced administrative/operational/customer support duties that require independent initiative and judgment. May apply intermediate mathematical skills. Front office lead personnel, works closely with Center Administrator.
The Medical Receptionist Lead activities are performed in a moderately complex nature that may require discretion or interpretation of policies, procedures, practices, and protocols. Requires supervision within standard guidelines and maintains established quality control standards
The Medical Receptionist Lead works within defined parameters and requires instructions only on new tasks. Makes decisions based on following standard guidelines/policies/practices/protocols that allow for some opportunity within scope for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion, including latitude over prioritization and timing of tasks. Seeks new ways to improve own work and development.

Lead Medical Receptionist Role Overview:
The Lead Medical Receptionist operates a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintains long distance call logs. Takes and distributes accurate messages. Greets visitors and determines the nature of their visit, issues visitor passes and maintains visitor logs, alerts appropriate party of visitor arrival or directs visitors to appropriate office, department or employee. Responds to routine inquiries from internal or external sources such as the organization's location, hours of operation, phone numbers, and/or email address. Additional responsibilities may include miscellaneous administrative activities such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing and distributing mail, receiving and sending courier packages. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Additional Information
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of medical reception experience
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Value-based care model experience
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Experience with EMR Systems (Electronic Medical Records)
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experiences and care
• Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and highly organized
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in leading a team/department preferred
Lead Medical Receptionist Working hours:
Scheduled 40 hours per week
Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM
This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
Local travel may be required; Mileage is reimbursed
