We are looking for a creative, results-driven, data-minded, and detail-oriented Marketing leader with deep expertise in Global B2B Marketing, from SMB to mid-market and Enterprise. This person will report directly to the SVP & GM Software and work closely with the senior management team, sales, marketing, engineering, and other stakeholders. The Sr. Director of Marketing for the Software business unit will drive all aspects of the go-to-market communications, including awareness, demand, and revenue, from strategy to delivery of campaigns and new software introduction, with a data-oriented focus for success tracking and ongoing improvements.
Leading a team of Marketing Managers and working closely with the regional and digital marketing teams, the Sr. Director of Marketing will be responsible for the overall strategic planning, brand management, content strategy, budget management, reporting, and more, working closely with the Sales teams to drive high-quality marketing-qualified leads that will drive the accelerated growth and success of the software products at Altium.
This position requires a seasoned marketing professional with a deep understanding of the software industry, B2B data-driven campaigns marketing expertise, a successful product marketing track record, and the ability to lead a high-performing marketing team. A proven track record of driving high-quality, qualified marketing leads for inside sales motions beyond high-volume email campaigns is a must. Some traveling, in North America and abroad, is expected.
A day in the life of our Senior Director of Marketing, Software:
Strategic Planning:
- Proactively develop and execute a strategic marketing plan aligned with the company's overall business goals to deliver accelerated growth and increased retention
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing strategies with product development and sales efforts, defining target audiences and market segments
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and threats
- Plan and execute advertising campaigns (online and offline) to reach target audiences effectively, collaborating with agencies and media partners
Brand & Product positioning, messaging, and planning:
- Define and communicate compelling value propositions for the software products
- Develop and maintain consistent messaging and brands across all marketing channels
- Maintain and strengthen the software products’ brand identities
- Lead the development of go-to-market plans for new software releases and updates
- Coordinate with product management, sales, and other stakeholders to ensure successful product life-cycle management
Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing marketing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities
- Set clear goals and performance metrics for team members
- Foster a collaborative and innovative marketing culture
- Manage the coordination with the regional marketing teams
Content Strategy:
- Own and drive content strategy and execution, including the creation of compelling and relevant campaigns and impactful content for various marketing channels (e.g., website, social media, email), driving high-quality lead generation programs to support sales
- Develop content calendars, distribution strategies, and data-driven success tracking
- Collaborate with content creators to produce high-quality, engaging content, including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, and more
Digital Marketing:
- Oversee the end-to-end digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media advertising, and content marketing
- Analyze digital marketing performance and make data-driven optimizations together with the digital marketing team, driving demand and conversion through various channels
Budget Management:
- Manage the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness, marketing resources allocation and ROI optimization to achieve the company growth goals
