What You’ll Do:

• Ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability across Silgan’s IT infrastructure.
• Implement servers, virtual machines, applications, and system appliances.
• Manage Microsoft Windows Active Directory.
• Evaluate technology needs and provide recommendations consistent with IT standards.
• Participate in the design, architecture, implementation, and maintenance of technology projects.
• Monitor and maintain critical IT systems.
• Provide support for servers, PCs, peripherals, system appliances, OS, and enterprise applications.
• Administer access, permissions, and ensure file system integrity.
• Manage patching solutions for OS and software applications.
• Implement and maintain server data backup processes, both hardware and systems.
• Assist in the management of computer virus protection.
• Work with IT management and plant staff to define and implement projects.
• Interact with vendors and consultants.
• Document new and existing technologies and assist with training and instruction.
• Be available for weekly 24-hour on-call support.
• Travel to other locations to provide onsite expertise.

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree Information Technology, Computers, or related experience with a focus systems infrastructure.
• 4 or more years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of server hardware. and software platforms, PC hardware and software support, general networking, Windows Server platforms, specifically 2008 R2 through 2019, and VMware.
• Good knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite, PowerShell, security architecture, databases and applications.
• Advanced knowledge of computer security and networking, the OSI model, TCP\UPD, and TCP Ports
• Ability to travel up to 20 percent domestically and internationally
• MCSA and or MSCE certification, preferred
