The Senior Credit Analyst is an expert individual contributor responsible for independently analyzing complex commercial credit relationships, preparing high-quality credit presentations, identifying portfolio risk themes, and serving as a technical credit resource to bankers and analysts. The position applies advanced commercial credit judgment, strong policy discipline, and portfolio perspective to support sound lending decisions, consistent risk-rating practices, audit-ready documentation, and effective credit monitoring for complex or high-impact relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Credit & Financial Acumen
Analyze complex commercial relationships, including multi-entity borrowers, global cash flow, guarantor analysis, collateral coverage, covenant capacity, industry risks, sensitivity scenarios, and repayment sources.
Prepare high-quality credit presentations, underwriting analyses, annual reviews, renewals, modifications, criticized/classified credit support, and risk-rating recommendations for complex or higher-impact relationships.
Evaluate borrower performance, market and industry conditions, collateral trends, policy exceptions, covenant structure, and monitoring plans to develop well-supported credit conclusions.
Partner with lenders and credit leaders on transaction structure, risk mitigation, recommended conditions, covenants, reporting requirements, and alternative structures when appropriate.
Identify portfolio-level themes or emerging credit risks and communicate observations that support credit quality, portfolio monitoring, and management reporting.
Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported credit memorandums that connect borrower performance, cash flow, collateral position, loan structure, risk rating, and potential portfolio impact, while identifying risk mitigation strategies and structuring alternatives that support sound lending decisions.
Credit Administration
Serve as a technical resource for credit analysis, underwriting standards, risk-rating discipline, credit memo quality, borrower monitoring, and documentation expectations.
Promote consistent application of loan policy, credit standards, lending authorities, regulatory expectations, control requirements, and audit-ready documentation practices.
Monitor complex credit relationships, including covenant compliance, financial reporting requirements, risk-rating changes, exception trends, credit file quality, collateral issues, and borrower performance updates.
Support loan committee, management, or credit approval discussions through clear presentation of credit conclusions, risks, mitigants, and recommended actions.
Assist with special projects, portfolio risk reviews, process improvements, template enhancements, training initiatives, or credit administration reporting as assigned.
Operational Excellence
Exercise advanced credit judgment and high independence in complex or ambiguous credit situations while escalating material concerns appropriately.
Manage complex and competing priorities with strong organization, accuracy, timeliness, and follow-through.
Contribute to process improvement, template quality, credit memo consistency, and stronger analytical standards across the credit function.
Mentor Credit Analysts, support onboarding or development efforts, and reinforce disciplined analytical standards across the credit function.
Influence credit quality outcomes through strong technical analysis, clear communication, policy discipline, and constructive partnership with lending and credit leaders.
Maintain reliable and predictable onsite and remote work attendance to meet business and customer needs.
