The University of Michigan‐Flint seeks highly qualified applicants for a tenure‐track position in Supply Chain Management, beginning Fall 2026.  

Responsibilities

Position responsibilities include Teaching, Research, and Service. Teaching responsibilities for the position will include courses in our Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.  Assigned courses will be determined based on department/school needs and candidate expertise.  There may also be opportunities for the candidate to advise students and serve on dissertation committees in our Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) program which focuses on business strategy. 

The candidate will be expected to do research in the area of supply chain or operations management. UM-Flint is an excellent institution for candidates looking for a balance between teaching and research, with a three course per term teaching load and generous support for research.  Faculty in the Department of Management and Marketing are extremely research active, targeting and publishing in well-regarded peer-reviewed journals.  Salary will be competitive with other AACSB Accredited institutions.  We offer a course reduction and guaranteed summer research support for two years for incoming faculty as well as a very generous research/travel budget.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a relevant earned doctorate degree in supply chain management, operations management, or a closely related field from an AACSB or similarly accredited institution by the start date.

  •  A record indicating potential for significant scholarship in high-quality referred journals is required, as evidenced by doctoral dissertation work, conference papers or presentations, or published journal articles.

  • Evidence of some teaching experience.
