The work we do supports the Medtronic Mission, and it matters.As the Category Sourcing Lead - MRO, you will be a key member of Medtronic’s center-led Indirect Supply Management (ISM) team, reporting to the Sr. Sourcing Manager of Global MRO. You can create and execute value-driven strategies across many functions, regions, and businesses in this role. These strategies will leverage Medtronic’s global scale to drive year-over-year value within the MRO Industrial Supplies and Services sub-categories. You will partner with the center-led business engagement teams in this role to implement pan-Medtronic category strategies globally.

You will bring your demonstrated history of quickly identifying new value opportunities, establishing and building relationships in a matrixed environment, working collaboratively to ensure team performance, and successfully influencing various stakeholders at all levels.
As the Category Sourcing Lead - MRO, you will:
Identify strategies across multiple sub-categories in the MRO Industrial Supplies and Services categories that utilize multiple levers and approaches to drive value
Build strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and assigned suppliers
Work with the internal Sourcing Administration team to expand and utilize internal purchase catalogs to support guided buying processes reflective of broader category strategies
Engage and influence multiple stakeholders to create and implement strategies in a highly matrixed organization
Develop and implement sourcing strategies that result in a year-over-year new value improvement
Gather market intelligence and trends for relevant categories and sub-categories
Achieve year-over-year value improvements for all quality, service, innovation, and cost aspects
Perform RF(x) activities to drive competitive pressure and ensure maximum value is realized
Partner closely with key functions that support supply management (e.g., legal, finance, quality/compliance)
Lead and assist in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities and develop governance for suppliers in your assigned sub-categories
Lead contract negotiations that support and align with key stakeholder needs and requirements and overall Medtronic strategies
Recommend solutions to business problems and/or identify opportunities for improvement and present ideas to leadership
Educate on key indirect supply management initiatives and policies
Develop robust data gathering and perform data maintenance to ensure spend transparency and support the development of a baseline for sourcing cost reduction efforts
Identify insourcing and outsourcing opportunities
Must-Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant sourcing or supply chain experience or advanced degree with 5 years of relevant sourcing or supply chain experience
Nice to Have
Demonstrated experience in building and executing successful category strategies in the MRO/Operations space
Category management experience with a global company (strategy development and execution following strategic sourcing methodology)
Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
Demonstrated leadership, customer service, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, tact, judgment, high attention to detail, and organizational skills
Demonstrated strength in analytical skills
Continuous improvement mindset
Demonstrated written and verbal communication
Working knowledge of SAP/Ariba spend management tools
