Production Operator

Job Summary:
As a Production Operator you will be responsible for operating and maintaining printing equipment at SumnerOne's Print Center. This role ensures the production of high-quality printed materials and provides support in meeting client needs and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate various printing and finishing equipment, including digital printers, copiers, binders, and cutters
- Monitor machines during operation to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment
- Production Management:
- Follow production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Manage workflow and ensure the timely completion of print jobs
- Coordinate with the Print Center Supervisor to address production challenges and improve efficiency
- Quality Assurance:
- Inspect printed materials for quality, accuracy, and adherence to client specifications
- Implement and follow quality control procedures
- Identify and rectify issues that could impact the quality of the final product
- Inventory and Supplies:
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of paper, ink, and other supplies
- Report supply needs to the Print Center Supervisor
- Assist in ordering and restocking supplies as necessary
- Customer Service:
- Interact with clients to understand their print requirements and provide recommendations
- Address client inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and operational procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the Print Center Supervisor
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in printing technology is a plus
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating printing equipment in a production environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot printing and finishing equipment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with print management software
Working Conditions:
- This position requires standing for extended periods and the ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
- The work environment may include exposure to noise, chemicals, and ink
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends during peak production periods
