EMC Mechanical Services is searching for an experienced Account Manager to join our Special Projects team. As a Special Projects Account Manager at EMC, you play a critical role in driving growth by sourcing and developing project opportunities that align with our goals for growth. You are the first point of contact in identifying and qualifying construction jobs, maintaining strong relationships with general contractors and vendors, and helping expand our market footprint. Once a job opportunity is identified, your role includes transitioning it to our estimating team and shifting focus to the next opportunity, keeping the project pipeline full and aligned with our field capacity.

What You’ll Do:
- Daily Contractor & Vendor Engagement
- Conduct routine face-to-face and virtual meetings with general contractors, developers, and trade partners.
- Build and maintain relationships that lead to consistent bid invites and early access to upcoming projects.
- Actively monitor and engage in industry networks, events, and job leads.
- Job Sourcing & Development
- Identify upcoming commercial construction projects that fit our scope and workforce availability.
- Vet opportunities based on scope, schedule, and profitability potential.
- Coordinate initial project information gathering and ensure a clean handoff to Estimating.
- Project Handoff & Transition
- Prepare and deliver a comprehensive project brief to the Estimating Department.
- Collaborate with the Preconstruction Team to ensure clarity and completeness of opportunity details.
- Once handed off, transition to sourcing the next viable opportunity – maintaining a forward-moving pipeline.
- Internal Coordination & Forecasting
- Participate in weekly PAR meetings to report on pipeline activity, market feedback, and upcoming opportunities.
- Work closely with operations and project management teams to understand labor forecasts and identify future job gaps or overages.
- Adjust business development focus accordingly to help balance project flow and manpower.
- Strategic Growth & Market Expansion
- Seek out new markets, customer segments, and geographic areas that align with company goals.
- Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to inform strategy and positioning.

Qualifications
What You’ll Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2+ years experience in a Sales or Account Management role.
- HVAC and/or Plumbing understanding or experience is preferred.
- High energy level, strong work ethic, can-do attitude, excellent time management skills, and highly effective interpersonal style.
- Capable of effectively managing your time using online sales tools to analyze sales activity, tracking, and general sales effectiveness.
