Clinical Research Coordinator BJob Description Summary
The Takeshita Lab is dedicated to identifying, understanding, and eliminating health and healthcare disparities related to dermatologic diseases, particularly chronic inflammatory diseases such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. The lab engages in quantitative epidemiologic studies ranging from survey studies to large population-based database studies as well as qualitative and mixed methods research to understand health disparities. The lab’s work is funded by federal, industry and foundation sponsors. Current projects include ADDS-UP3, a community-based cohort study aimed at identifying the social and environmental drivers of racial and ethnic disparities in atopic dermatitis severity; P2P-PsO, a study of the effectiveness of peer mentors in increasing participant diversity in psoriasis research; VTEACH-PsO, a project evaluating the effectiveness of an educational video in increasing the likelihood of Black adults with psoriasis participating in research; among other health disparities related studies.The primary responsibility of the Clinical Research Coordinator B (CRC B) position in the Takeshita Lab is to implement study protocols including both quantitative and qualitative data collection procedures and to coordinate regulatory compliance. Working closely with the PI, the CRC B will plan, coordinate, and conduct recruitment, enrollment, and data collection visits with study participants at various on-site and off-site locations. They will also engage in compliance monitoring and data management with other study team members including the data analyst and biostatistician.
The ideal candidate for this position will have keen interest in health equity, health disparities research, and public health and the ability to handle a variety of responsibilities related to the conduct of observational studies and clinical trials in accordance with federal regulations for the conduct of human subjects research and applicable University of Pennsylvania policies and guidelines.
