About the role

Nature and Scope

The Outpatient Rehabilitation Manager is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction, and daily operations of the hospital’s outpatient rehabilitation services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care that aligns with the hospital’s mission, regulatory standards, and financial goals.

 

The Manager oversees clinical and administrative staff, manages departmental budgets, monitors productivity and performance metrics, and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and accrediting agency requirements. The Manager collaborates closely with referring providers, hospital leadership, and community partners to expand access to rehabilitation services, enhance patient outcomes, and support the hospital’s role as a trusted provider of rural healthcare.

 

This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to balance clinical excellence with operational efficiency in a critical access hospital environment.

  • Quincy, CA and Greenville, CA

Compensation

Compensation Philosophy:

  • We have 13 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate successful candidate for 30 years of relevant experience

Compensation Range:

  • $65.85 - $93.88 / hour 

Job Status / Shift Information

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current, active California licensure in respective discipline (PT, OT, or SLP) required.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification, approved by the AHA.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive clinical experience in rehabilitation services, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience managing outpatient therapy operations, staffing, scheduling, and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated success in program development, quality improvement, and compliance with regulatory standards (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.).
  • Experience in a critical access or rural healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to develop and manage departmental budgets and productivity standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and patient-centered care.

  • Clinical Quality & Compliance: Ensures evidence-based practice standards, regulatory adherence, and patient safety.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively with providers, hospital departments, and external partners to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to convey expectations clearly and build strong professional relationships.
  • Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR), scheduling software, and data reporting tools for performance monitoring and analysis.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a small-hospital environment that requires versatility, problem-solving, and a hands-on management approach.
