Who we are looking for:

F&R is looking for an individual who can work with a project manager to assemble, configure, install and commission geotechnical or structural monitoring systems.  

What you’ll be doing:

  • Set up monitoring field work according to project requirements.
  • Install and configure instrumentation for data collection such as seismographs, total stations, crackmeters, piezometers, inclinometers, vibrating wire strain gauges, tiltmeters, wireless nodes and gateways, etc.
  • Safely remove instrumentation upon project completion or as needed
  • Monitor, maintain and repair instrumentation to ensure proper functioning
  • Download data from instrumentation and utilize it to create comprehensive reports.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize instrumentation setups and data collection processes.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times during field work and instrumentation handling.
  • Keep accurate records of instrumentation installations, maintenance and repairs.
  • Stay updated on advancements in instrumentation technology and recommend improvements when applicable.

What you need to have:

  • Technical High school diploma or higher education
  • Demonstrate basic proficiency in one or two or the following: fabrication and industrial maintenance,  wireless devices, survey equipment, telemetry, field instrumentation, low-voltage electrical for instruments and loggers, or mechanical/electro-mechanical systems experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to handle the day-to-day schedules, inventory documentation, and regular interactions with customers.
  • Interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals effectively. 
  • Apply fundamentals mathematical formulas and concepts to perform various tasks such as calculating quantities, estimating volumes, inspecting constructed work, making field recommendations, and conducting calculations for field and laboratory tests and equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and general computer programs
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently and within teams to achieve goals
  • Must be technology minded and detail oriented
  • Must have a self-starter attitude, good at working with others, work well in the field, and able to create order out of chaos
  • A problem solver who can deal with a variety of variables at once
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
  • Valid driver’s license and good-standing driving record
  • Ability to continuously walk and stand throughout the day
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Ability to frequently drive to and from work sites, must have valid driver’s license with good-standing driving record\
