Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

You will join a growing and dynamic team of business insights and analytics professionals whose main goal is to help our marketing, sales, finance, and business leadership partners achieve their business goals through data, reporting, and analytics. Sr. Director – Consumer Data Engineering is responsible for leading and implementing the data engineering strategy for Lilly USA Consumer 1PD data. This position is accountable for creating data products to support analytics, reporting, and downstream systems enabling ground-breaking customer experience. The success of this role will also include leading data product development to enable AI and GEN AI including automation of data ingestion, governance on machine readable data products and data product strategy. Further, this position will be responsible for identifying and advocating standard methodologies for the affiliate across the data asset lifecycle, working closely with data domain and analytics leaders. This position works with the Vice President– Business Insights and Analytics.
Key Objectives/Responsibilities:
- Lead the Consumer data engineering team (onshore/offshore) to deliver on the data and analytics products and strategy for US commercial business. There will be limited global work as well.
- Implement continuous improvement processes to speed time to delivery and quality.
- Identify and implement plans for automation to minimize manual tasks and errors.
- Standardize requirements to enable broad deployment of AI and Gen AI on structured data products.
- Promote the reuse of code and process through engineering of a master data products, working with data governance and tech at Lilly team members.
- Enable improved productivity across the BI&A function as well as extended team members within Data Science teams
- Work closely with the data governance team to ensure data products are incorporated into the data catalogue to enable knowledge sharing across the enterprise.
- Promote reuse of content and data through the creation
- Build data strategies to meet emerging business needs.
- Work with T@L leaders, domain leaders, analysts and others to identify unknown sources of data or reconcile important differences in datasets
Lead Team of Data Engineers:
- Create an inclusive culture were creating and maintaining high-quality data is a core subject area. Team will start small in US with robust OUS team.
- Provide supervision and coaching oversight for team of data professionals (both US and off shore based) – ensuring consistent results performance.
- Build career path for data engineering to support the growth of the team and the needs of the business.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years data analytics and data engineering experience.

Additional Skills/Preferences
- Experience with SQL, Python, Java, Spring, Spring Boot, AWS, GITHUB, JIRA Azure and other cloud native technologies
- Experience with large scale, enterprise 3rd party data and analytics
- Strong pharmaceutical data engineering skills coupled with discernment, and an ability to think strategically in an ambiguous environment
