Position Summary:

The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) will work in a busy in/outbound call center environment, processing automated appointment scheduling, completing registration for patients and updating patient demographics as the initial point of contact with patients among other clerical duties assigned.


Key Results Areas (KRAs):

  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills by answering inbound calls from patients with excellent phone presence. 
  • Eagerly assist each patient with their needs of scheduling appointments, sending refill requests, messages to the providers, etc. 
  • Accurately and efficiently entering patients' information into patient’s charts. 
  • Ascertain any patient needs and issues, using compassion and respect to ensure a quality experience for all of our patients, employees and providers. 
  • Ensure appropriate protocols are followed with PHI to patients and internal/external parties by following HIPAA guidelines. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service role required
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting required specific specialty area preferred but not required
  • Experience using EPIC EMR system strongly preferred
