Description

The Director of Quality is responsible for establishing, executing, and maintaining a comprehensive Quality Control (QC) and Quality Management System (QMS) that ensures all aircraft, training devices, maintenance activities, and supplier provided products meet AAR, OEM, FAA, and Government customer requirements. This role oversees all aspects of the Aircraft Maintenance Program’s Environment, Health, and Safety program and serves as the functional supervisor for all Quality Control Inspectors assigned to the CBP Program.

The Director of Quality acts as the primary liaison with Government oversight representatives, the Helicopter OEM, and the FAA, ensuring full compliance with contractual, regulatory, and training related quality requirements. This position is accountable for audit readiness, Government surveillance support, and timely response to all findings, observations, and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Control Plan (QCP) and Quality Management Plan (QMP) across all assigned locations in coordination with Senior Leadership.
  • Lead and manage a comprehensive flight training Quality Control program, ensuring all aircraft, training operations, and maintenance activities meet mission, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all aircraft are safe, mission‑ready, properly configured, and delivered on schedule in accordance with daily flight training and operational requirements.
  • Support daily maintenance operations to ensure all contractual requirements, performance standards, and mission objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Support Government surveillance IAW the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP), ensuring continuous compliance and readiness for all Government evaluations.
  • Ensure audit readiness by maintaining complete, accurate, and accessible records, documentation, and quality artifacts.
  • Provide Government representatives access to records, facilities, personnel, and quality documentation as required for surveillance, audits, and inspections.
  • Respond to Government findings, observations, and CARs within Government‑directed timelines, ensuring timely corrective and preventive action implementation.
  • Identify operational risks and support development of mitigation strategies to ensure mission continuity and contract success.
  • Prepare and present program status updates, performance metrics, and operational reports to Senior Leadership.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across all program functions.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 
     

Qualifications

 

What You Will Need to Be Successful in This Role 

  • In order to access Fort Rucker, US Citizenship is required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in aviation maintenance, quality assurance, logistics, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate and FAA Inspector Authorization (IA) preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of aviation maintenance experience, including 5+ years of leadership experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance function.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting or managing a comprehensive flight training Quality Control program in a military or commercial aviation environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or executing an Aircraft Maintenance Control Program.
