To assist with our growth plans in North America this position will focus on R&D activities for the Residential HVAC team, specifically supporting air handler and gas furnace products. This will include designing, prototyping, and testing new concepts and designs, as well as advanced development and future innovation for these product categories. This is a full-time position with some domestic and international travel required.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the international R&D team regarding product design, problem-solving, and new concept development.
- Be an integral part of the product planning and future innovation roadmap process.
- Participate in weekly R&D calls with international design team – following up on action items, etc.
- Work independently and with a small team to recommend product improvements, new features, etc. based on product feedback from customers.
- Be a major contributor to the intellectual property strategy and roadmap for these product families.
- Collaborate closely with regulatory engineers to ensure product compliance and align product plans with industry trends.
- Lead competitive analysis and teardowns – including technology offerings, features, performance data, etc.
- Ability to travel domestically & internationally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to organize/execute a strategy.
- Experience with component and system level reliability testing.
- Goal-oriented & self-managed.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge of and experience with standard fabrication tools & prototyping methods
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in engineering.
- History of collaborating with global colleagues.
- Previous experience with HVAC, preferably residential furnaces, and/or air handlers
