Safety Internship

Overview

This is a Summer 2025 internship in the safety department. 

Responsibilities

• Maintain OSHA compliance
• Update required safety programs (LOTO, confined space, etc.)
• Conduct site audits
• Follow up with management to complete deficiencies
• Participate in compliance requests and activities pertaining to the division
• Provide reports and be a resource to management and employees
• Update Job Safety Analyses (JSA)
• Assist in hands on training including
• New hire orientation
• Fire extinguisher training
• First responder training
• Other projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Candidate should be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in a safety related major
• Must have completed at least freshman year
• Preferred GPA of at least 2.7
• Must be willing to conduct safety audits in an industrial setting
• Must have knowledge of OSHA standards for general industry
• Must be highly organized and have a strong ability to multitask
• Exceptional communication skills
• Strong analytical and issue identification, prioritization and resolution skills
• Ability to work successfully both independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to act objectively and within the strictest environment of confidentiality
• Must be highly proficient with PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
