Overview

To seek, secure, and steward external funding and monitor grant funds for compliance in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Master’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in educational leadership, administration, management, and/or supervisory experience with grant development and/or compliance.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with the writing, monitoring, and fiscal reporting of federal, state and/or local competitive, non-competitive and/or entitlement grant projects.
  • Two (2) or more years of work experience using financial, budget software and/or grants management software.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical assistance and training to individuals and groups.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Demonstrated skill and experience in all stages of grant proposal development and post-award reporting and stewardship. Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, federal, and corporate grant development processes, preparation and compliance practices and regulations, and ability to facilitate processes pre-award to post-award. Demonstrated knowledge of how to research potential funding opportunities. Knowledge of and ability to use, create, manipulate, and analyze data within Excel spreadsheets and database systems. Knowledge of school finance, particularly in the area of project budget development, set-up, and monitoring for compliance. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in grant proposal development and compliance reporting. Demonstrated ability to facilitate group processes, engage in conflict resolution, planning, and decision-making to build consensus. Demonstrated skill and experience in writing and presenting information in a variety of formats to administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, business partners, and members of the community. Ability to interpret state board rules and school board policy. Ability to perform technical writing including grant proposal development. Ability to train others in writing grant application development and compliance reporting procedures. Ability to assist with the preparation of grant applications and facilitate processing from inception through project closeout.REPORTS TO: Director, GrantsSUPERVISES: Senior Managers, GrantsMACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT:Machines, tools, equipment, electronic devices, vehicles, etc., used in this position. Those activities in which detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed accurately, loudly or quickly.90 Hearing Acuity: The ability to perceive speech and other environmental sounds at normal loudness levels.90 Visual Acuity: The power to see at a level which allows reading of numbers and text, operation of equipment, inspection of machines, etc.Note: Will total more than 100 percent as several activities may be performed at one time.WORKING CONDITIONS:Conditions the worker will be subject to in this position.Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions.
