Strategic Business and Data Scientist

What does a great Strategic Business and Data Scientist do at Fiserv?

At Fiserv, the Strategic Business and Data Scientist plays a crucial role in performing complex analysis to uncover business opportunities for our Financial Institution clients. Collaborating closely with both external clients and internal teams, this individual transforms data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong mathematical and statistical expertise, combined with a natural curiosity and creative mindset, to unlock hidden opportunities within the data and drive business growth. As part of a specialized team, the data scientist will leverage various methods to analyze data and envision new possibilities for the future.

What you will do:

• Research and devise innovative statistical models for data analysis.
• Execute analytical experiments to solve problems and identify opportunities across the customer base.
• Implement analytical models in production by collaborating with software developers and machine-learning engineers.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders effectively.
• Analyze data for trends and patterns, interpreting them with clear objectives.
• Keep abreast of technical and industry developments for continuous improvement.

What You Will Need To Have:

• Master’s Degree in Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, or related field required.
• 7 or more years of experience in data science and/or advanced data analysis.
• Proficiency in data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
• Advanced experience in pattern recognition and predictive modeling.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, SQL, and programming languages.

What Would Be Great To Have:

• Strong business intelligence and data analytics experience.
• Experience with strategy development and execution.
• Client management and relationship building skills.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to support business functions through BI, reporting, and data analysis.
