About the role

  • TAGME Certification required within one year of working with UT Health.
  • Responsible for independently managing one or more GME programs, which may include supervisory responsibilities and indirectly reports to the Office of Graduate Medical Education. 
  • The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of ACGME and participating site policies, as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. 
  • Provides guidance regarding accreditation and program management to the Program Director, Administrator, and other levels of GME Program Coordinators and department constituents. 
  • Manages accreditation activities including ACGME site visits, self-studies, internal reviews and annual program review. 
  • Keeps abreast of relevant accreditation trends, reads relevant literature, and attends conferences that will assist in the development and success of the program. Creates, reviews, and maintains policies and procedures in accordance with University and accrediting body standards to ensure compliance. 
  • May represent program at local, state, and national level.
  • Serves as the lead for all aspects of the assigned program(s). 
  • Continually assess and direct a wide range of programmatic issues including long range planning, developing projects, analyzing administrative workflow, maintaining databases, communicating with faculty, staff, and trainees. 
  • Evaluates effectiveness of curriculum and effectiveness of program in meeting goals. 
  • May teach seminars and workshops and participate with faculty. Plans, directs and controls program budget. Provides sound guidance and advice on other pertinent program issues. 
  • May supervise, train, and mentor other program staff. 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned and those of PC Senior.

Bachelor's Degree degree or Master's degree in Business Administration, Education, or related field is preferred. Direct GME and UT Leadership Development may substitute for degree requirement. TAGME required upon eligibility.

Benefits Overview

UT Health San Antonio offers an excellent benefits package for its employees. Employees who work at least 20 hours a week, with an appointment of at least 4.5 months, are eligible for benefits.

Dental - Three dental insurance plan options are available for employees and their families through Delta Dental Insurance Company, two PPOs and one dental HMO plan. Both PPO plans allow employees to choose any licensed dentist. 
Vision - Fully insured Vision Care benefits are offered by Superior Vision Services. Two vision plan options that offer either standard or enhanced vision benefits.
Disability - Employees can enroll in the Disability Insurance which provides income if a non-work related illness or injury prevents you from working.
FSAs - Employees can enroll in flexible spending accounts (FSAs) to set aside money from earnings before taxes for qualifying dependent day care expenses or out-of-pocket health care expenses. 
Retirement - Employees are eligible for either the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions. ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers.
