We are looking for a Senior Manager, Forming and Dryer Fabrics within the Fabrics Unit’s Paper Machine Clothing (PMC) team.

In this global role, you will have overall responsibility for the growth and profitability of Valmet’s forming and drying fabrics portfolio, working as a leader of strategy and implementation for these product groups.

The position can be based in Tampere or Juankoski (Finland), or in Ovar (Portugal).

Your role and responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Forming and Drying Fabrics product group globally.
• Lead the global product management team for forming and drying fabrics, including Global Product Managers.
• Drive and support area sales and local Product Managers to develop customer performance and grow PMC sales globally.
• Manage the product life cycle and portfolio (offering, new product launches, pricing, competitiveness).
• Participate in strategic business planning as a member of the PMC management team.
• Ensure the development of product offerings that meet or exceed customer requirements and market expectations, in cooperation with the PMC RTD team.
• Collaborate with PMC Production Teams, Fabrics sales offices, other Valmet businesses, and Fabrics Unit management.
• Turn customer needs and opportunities into sales, supporting our global customers in the tissue, paper, board, and pulp industries.

To be successful in this position we expect you to have the following qualifications:

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering in suitable technical educational background (e.g. process technology)

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in paper making and/or technical textiles
• Previous leadership experience, preferably in working in the customer interface
• Fluent communication skills in Finnish and in English along with presentation and negotiation skills
• Excellent IT skills (MS office, Compass etc.)
• Proactive and independent working style together with a team player attitude and ability to work in a global organization
• Willingness to travel internationally (50-70 days/year)
• Motivation to challenge yourself and your team
