The Sr. Manager, LEU+ Manufacturing Process Engineering will lead and coordinate process engineering functions in support of the license, design, fabrication, assembly, construction and commissioning of the new Columbia fuel facility for higher enriched uranium fuel. Responsible for planning, directing, developing, implementing and maintaining manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing equipment and processes. Proactively seek, develop and implement initiatives to cost effectively achieve goals and ensure customer satisfaction. Promote and enable professional and technical development of staff.
This position is eligible for a Remote working arrangement (within the United States) with periodic travel to the Columbia, SC facility.
Your Day to Day:
- Plan and formulate engineering program and organizes department staff according to project and/or manufacturing requirements to ensure reliable product delivery meeting objectives for safety, quality, cost and production according to the production schedule.
- Determine priorities with the Project Director and Operations Manager, and implement cost-reduction, quality, productivity and safety improvement; maintains detailed documentation as required.
- Responsible for developing and leading engineers who are the process owners/experts for the operation including the technical aspects of configuration changes, safety basis, integrated safety assessments.
- Assign departmental personnel to specific manufacturing areas/phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
- Develop and maintains department standard operating procedures, training, manuals, and drawing standards.
- Evaluate and approve design changes, calculations, specifications and drawing releases.
- Focuses on engineer group professional development and cross training to build organizational depth and ability to flex and leverage engineering resources.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field required
- Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience and leadership
- 6 sigma/black belt preferred
