Supplier Quality Analyst

Yanmar Compact Equipment North America (YCENA) company located in Grand Rapids, MN designs, manufactures, and supports a complete range of compact equipment including compact track loaders, mini excavators, wheel loaders and construction equipment for use in such markets as construction, landscaping, utility, land management and agriculture. The products are sold primarily through a third party, independent dealer network.

 

OVERVIEW: 

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager the Supplier Quality Analyst will be accountable to gather, manage, maintain, analyze, and report on data related to supplier quality. In addition, the Supplier Quality Analyst will work closely with the purchasing team to support overall supplier quality assurance functions for all supplier manufacturers, including delivery requirements, quality, regulatory, safety, and compliance.


Partner with Global Supplier Quality teams to execute required activities for the qualification and monitoring of suppliers. Maintain the Approved Supplier List to ensure supplier information is up-to-date and accurate. Responsible for working with the purchasing department and collaborating on supplier corrective actions requests (SCARs) as needed for non-conforming materials, delivery issues, capacity. Follow up with supplier to ensure implementation of appropriate CAPAs identified through SCAR process.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensure all supplier work meets or exceeds the contract specifications and standard of excellence as contractually agreed upon

· Work closely with the Sourcing and Product Development team to define product specification quality requirements critical to quality metrics

· Serve as the technical liaison and single point of contact on behalf of the supplier to other departments to determine the root cause of supplier responsible quality issues as well as to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions

· Analyze, interpret, and communicate qualitative and quantitative findings from quality audits

· Participate in process reviews to inform product development of products and resolution of defects

· Research, gather, analyze, and report on data related to quality processes

· Recognize, understand, and analyze trends and reporting

· Recommend and implement changes to resolve process variances

· Perform data entry

· Perform supplier audits in accordance with supplier quality procedures with support from Buyers, Quality, and Sourcing as part of corrective actions ad hoc 

· Work with Buyers to drive issue resolution with respective suppliers

· Provide support and analysis on special projects as assigned

· Assist with PPAP data and maintain file 

· Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed

Requirements

    

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.

· CPSM, CPSD, or ASSM Certification preferred. 

· Minimum of 3 years’ practical working experience in Supplier Management or Supplier Quality Assurance.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Will have strong analytical skills.
  • Analysts should also have strong communication skills for excelling in this role.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Power BI
  • Analysts should also be able to pay proper attention to detail.
  • Strong engineering analysis skills, as well as data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and team building skills. 
  • Manages time effectively, remains organized in all circumstances.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative.
  • Must be able to travel on an occasional basis. Valid driver's license.
