Work tasks
3.1. Responsibilities & tasks
Identify contract specifications, grades, and procurement of ocean freight.
Book, negotiate, and manage truck freight execution against FOB contracts.
Work with inventory management, shipment tracking, and reporting.
Control, process, and dispute supplier and carrier invoices where appropriate.
Work with suppliers to trouble shoot daily transloading and execution challenges.
Understand the various market drivers for the various types of transportation modes
Complete a strategic supply chain plan or equivalent value-added project to complete the
internship program.


3.2. Reporting
Internal communication and coordination are expected to enable professional
development, performance management, and coordination with colleagues. Engagement
in the following reporting structures is expected:

Relevant and timely reporting to the relevant stakeholders. Ensure reporting is
efficient and value adding, always.

Status reports on projects and strategic initiatives
Participation in monthly one-to-one meetings with immediate manager to unleash
potential through focus on individual development and learning objectives.

Maintenance of personal calendar in Outlook to enable coordination and
communication with colleagues.
