Description
Part time salaried position (FTE .6) for an Occupational Health Registered Nurse, BSN preferred, in the dynamic employee health clinic within a pharmaceutical site. The position is in person, during core business hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional on-call clinical coverage in a setting that is open 24/7.
Reports to Director Global Employee Health, collaborates with multidisciplinary team including nurse practitioners, RN’s, paramedics and Medical Assistants.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Management of occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries including medical emergencies: triage, perform nursing interventions, referral to the appropriate level of care.
Case management of work-related injuries in collaboration with key stakeholders and WC Third Party Administrator
Assessment and disposition of employees returning to work from personal and work-related absences
Perform tasks related to medical surveillance program: reviewing questionnaires, administering vaccinations, collecting lab specimens, testing vision, performing audiometry and spirometry, and review results of tests for determination of follow up actions.
Participation and collaboration with Health Services team to plan and implement wellness activities including vaccination campaigns and other company sponsored events.
Education
Must have a HS Diploma or GED and a nursing degree from an accredited nursing program with a BSN preferred.
Requirements –
Must have an active Pennsylvania nursing license in good standing.
Minimum 5 years clinical experience in occupational health, emergency department or related fields preferred.
A strong focus on teamwork and excellent communication skills are required as the successful candidate must be able to interact collaboratively with colleagues in the clinic but also with employees at all levels in the organization.
Must have a strong working knowledge of computers including Microsoft 365 suite tools and electronic medical records (EMR).
Proficiency required in triage of patients, medication administration via route ordered, and in documentation of care including use of an electronic medical record.
Experience in emergency care is a plus.
Occupational Health experience including Pennsylvania workers compensation desirable.
BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
