Senior Business Objects Platform Administrator/Engineer

Successful candidates will demonstrate an in-depth experience with all aspects of SAP Business Objects (BO) to include platform architecture and administration, security model, universe and report design, and application integration utilizing the Business Objects SDK. The candidate will leverage experience in architecting, configuring, building, deploying, and supporting SAP Business Objects as a shared service across the enterprise with diverse data sources such as DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, and others. The successful candidate will architect and engineer solutions to support integration and onboarding of Agency applications into a shared multi-tenant common service Business Objects environment. A deep understanding of DoD and government security standards and policies are needed to ensure all deployed changes are highly secure and available. The candidate will work directly with senior-level systems and software engineers and architects to implement solution designs in a large complex worldwide enterprise.

Qualifications:

• Seven (7) or more years in Administration of Business Objects Business Intelligence Platform to include the latest version.
• Ten (10) or more years total experience supporting enterprise-class applications in a significant engineering or administrative role.
• Experience with Linux or other UNIX variants such as IBM AIX.
• Experience with Oracle, DB2 and other enterprise-level databases.
• Experience in BO Universe and report design.
• Experience with application integrations utilizing the BO SDK.
• Security + Certification (Desired)

Typical Duties/Abilities:

• Maintaining BO architecture documentation, administration, upgrade and patching support.
• Providing development of universes and reports for new tenant applications integrating into the shared BO common service.
• Integrating complex web-based applications operating in Windows and Unix environments with BO using the SDK.
• Promotion of reports/universes/users along with security settings from lower to higher-level environments following Agency Change Management processes.
• Design and implement security by creating user groups, granting access to BO based applications to users and adding security restrictions (application level, folder level, and object level) based on user profile and user groups.
• Create access levels (Developer, Reporter, Viewer, etc.) based on project needs.
• Configure/Optimize Server settings. Apply trace logs on servers in case of troubleshooting complex incidents.
• Start /Stop, Enable/Disable, Clone, Add, remove BO Services as needed.
• Monitoring day to day BO services and scheduled jobs.

• Ability to articulate design and configuration choices and bring about consensus.

Education/Certifications:

• BS degree in Information Technology or another related technical discipline
• Certification in SAP Business Objects Administration (Desired)
