Position Overview:
The Housekeeping Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all public areas within the hotel, including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, and other common spaces. They play a crucial role in creating a positive first impression for guests and ensuring a clean and comfortable environment throughout their stay.

Job Functions:

• Cleaning and Maintenance:
  • Clean and sanitize public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and restrooms, using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, and polish floors to maintain a tidy and presentable appearance.
  • Dust furniture, fixtures, and decorative items, and wipe down surfaces to remove dirt, fingerprints, and smudges.
  • Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors to ensure a streak-free and sparkling finish.
  • Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and dispose of waste in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.
• Restroom Care:
  • Clean and disinfect restroom facilities, including sinks, toilets, urinals, and countertops.
  • Replenish restroom supplies such as toilet paper, soap, hand towels, and tissues as needed.
  • Monitor restroom cleanliness throughout the day and perform touch-up cleaning as necessary to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Public Area Setup:
  • Arrange furniture, seating areas, and decorative elements in public spaces to enhance the overall ambiance and functionality.
  • Ensure that signage, directional indicators, and promotional materials are displayed correctly and attractively.
  • Set up amenities such as water stations, reading materials, and floral arrangements to provide a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
• Equipment Care:
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, mop buckets, and floor scrubbers.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the housekeeping supervisor for prompt repair or replacement.
  • Store cleaning supplies and equipment in designated storage areas and ensure that they are properly maintained and secured.
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required when handling cleaning chemicals or performing tasks that may pose a risk to health and safety.
  • Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or incidents to the housekeeping supervisor or hotel management for resolution.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certification
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Customer Focus: Passion for providing excellent customer service and creating memorable experiences for guests.
• Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
