(Senior) Account Manager, Client Data Strategy

The (Senior) Account Manager, is responsible for building, maintaining, and strengthening the relationship between our company and an assigned group of clients (at both the organization and agency level).
The (Senior) Account Manager, is additionally responsible for gathering requirements for all data services provided by our company, translating those requirements into technical requirements for our operations and technology teams, and project managing the delivery of all work to the client. They provide strategic and visionary data leadership to our clients. They oversee all client data operations, acting as an augmentation of the clients’ staff. This position requires extensive people skills, communication and presentation skills, and some data/technical expertise.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Lead and participate in client meetings and conference calls, including meetings regarding data processing and other client needs.
- Provide regular status reports to clients in the format desired by clients outlining the state of all projects, requests, and initiatives.
- Act as a subject matter expert on fundraising principles and the overall direction of clients’ programs.
- Act as a subject matter expert on client contracts and billing.
- Act as a subject matter expert on all our data services and self-service systems.
- Collaborate with operations and technical teams to scope projects and draft statements of work for custom engagements.
- Evaluate client risks, and proactively act to resolve relationship issues with clients.
- Guide clients to use more data services, when appropriate, leveraging a strong understanding of those services.
- Train clients to use our self-service systems and interpret reports.
- Act as a subject matter expert on data workflows, particularly those for house file and acquisition processing in all fundraising channels, including direct mail.
- Participate in root cause analysis when issues occur.
- Collaborate with operations and technology teams to onboard new clients.
- Ensure client databases are properly monitored and updated at expected frequencies.
- Share knowledge of client operations with other functional teams, as needed.
- Maintain ample documentation and a dedicated deliverables calendar for each client.
- Meet weekly with a backup resource to keep them always ready to assume ownership of your work in your absence.
- Openly communicate with leadership, team members and other departments.
Education and Experience:
Education: 2-4 year college degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred, but not required.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in technical or semi-technical client-facing roles. A mixture of technical work experience and professional customer service experience is acceptable.
Pay range expected for the position: $55,000 to $75,000 annually.
