The Advanced Production & Automation team within the office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is seeking a Sr. Manager, Advanced Production & Automation – Accelerating Technology Into Production (ATIP) (level M) to lead the Accelerating Technology Into Production (ATIP) team to join our team in Berkeley, MO, Charleston, SC, or Seattle, WA. This position seeks to identify, scope and execute rapid response technology insertion projects into Boeing production systems to resolve production challenges.

Successful candidates will be comfortable working with a positive sense of urgency in a highly collaborative, dynamic environment while leading through influence across functional and organizational boundaries to drive value to programs.

You’ll be supported by an executive steering council of enterprise manufacturing leaders to steer project identification, scoping, and timelines. As the ATIP leader you’ll direct project management & execution in collaboration with a dynamically formed team(s) of technical experts in concert with program and engineering functions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Identify, scope and execute projects on accelerated timelines with measurable indicators of impact and success

  • Dynamically assemble project teams from the technical fellowship, functional organizations and enterprise networks around specific project requirements

  • Communicate processes, progress and status to executive leadership in manufacturing operations, engineering, program management, CTO, and functional leadership teams

  • Work directly with shop floor personnel and engineering teams to value stream map processes, identify opportunities for improvement and implement change

  • Deliver quantifiable results and observable benefits to production programs through process enhancement and technology advancements

  • Document and communicate scope, cost, schedule while holding teams accountable to deliverables

  • Be on-site, in the production system with the team to observe challenges and implement solutions

  • Leverage a network of internal and external partnerships, research and projects to accelerate implementable solutions from Minimum Viable Product, exit strategy and transition to sustained implementation

  • Establish program management best practices and core operating procedures to enable multiple simultaneous ATIP projects

  • Foster an environment of collaboration, inclusivity while maintaining a positive sense of urgency

  • Support the steering council in the selection of projects, scoping of funding requirements and identification of risks, issues and opportunities

  • Travel up to 50% of the time

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience working as a technical program manager

  • 5+ years of experience working with manufacturing, materials and assembly processes

  • 5+ years of experience working with cross-functional value stream stakeholders to resolve complex issues

  • 3+ years of experience developing/implementing strategic plans, delivering on commitments and results

  • 3+ years of leading engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of project management and/or technology development experience

  • Passion for transformative leadership, disruptive technologies and positively impactful change

  • Senior Management Experience

  • Degree or advanced degree in an engineering field

  • Experience working in a production environment from the perspective of PE, Ops, M&P and/or QE

  • Experience developing and/or incorporating advanced manufacturing technologies

  • Experience managing teams and projects spread across multiple locations

  • Experience working in or with BDS and BCA
