Construction Project Manager

Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee the on-site management and execution of car wash facility construction projects across San Diego County. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Construction Project Manager will ensure that construction activities are carried out efficiently and safely, maintaining the high standards set by Soapy Joe's. This role focuses on the day-to-day oversight of construction crews, adherence to timelines, and ensuring quality across multiple job sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• On-Site Construction Oversight: Supervise all on-site construction activities, managing contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure adherence to project plans and timelines.
• Reporting & Coordination with the Director of Development: Collaborate with the Director of Development to ensure proper resource allocation, schedule adherence, and budget management. Regularly report project status, including any challenges or delays.
• Daily Site Management: Perform daily inspections and manage all construction activities to ensure they meet Soapy Joe’s high standards of quality and safety.
• Quality Control & Safety: Conduct safety meetings, enforce OSHA standards, and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations. Address and resolve any site issues promptly.
• Permitting & Vendor Management: Work with local authorities to secure necessary permits and coordinate vendor deliveries to avoid delays.
• Project Documentation & Communication: Maintain detailed site logs, manage schedules, and communicate construction progress with both the Director of Development and key stakeholders.
• Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Resolve on-site challenges and ensure project continuity, adapting plans as needed while keeping all stakeholders informed.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: DEGREE

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial construction, ideally within multi-unit retail or car wash facilities.
• Proven track record in leading construction teams on fast-paced, high-volume projects.
• OSHA Certification and experience in safety management is highly preferred.
• Strong familiarity with construction management software, such as Procore or MS Project.

REQUIREMENTS: PHYSICAL

• Ability to remain in a stationary seated or standing position for various increments of time
• Able to move about to access a variety of tools and office equipment
• Able to consistently operate a computer or other electronic device
• Able to ascend or descend a ladder, crouch or crawl 
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, lift over head, twist and turn body when appropriate
• Must be able to communicate clearly through both verbal and written form
