Job Summary: 

 

The Sanitarian, reporting to the Executive Chef, oversees all operations related to cleaning and maintaining facilities. This position ensures adherence to sanitation procedures and protocols set forth by management.

• Supervise, train, and evaluate cleaning procedures. Ensure staff understand and follow proper cleaning techniques and safety procedures
• Inspect facilities regularly to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met. Identify any areas needing improvement
• Create and adjust cleaning schedules and assign tasks
• Conduct inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Order supplies as needed
• Implement and update sanitation policies, procedures, and protocols as required. Ensure staff compliance
• Document safety incidents, equipment malfunctions, and other issues. Take appropriate corrective actions
• Strong working knowledge of all sanitation and food handling regulations and laws
• Current ServSafe food handler or manager-level certificate, or equivalent
• Submit a current resume as part of your application, or list your work history on the application
• The sanitarian is responsible for performing daily sanitation and cleanliness inspections and audits throughout the facility, noting and correcting any issues or violations. This includes cleanliness and sanitizing, employee practices, food handling, temperature control, proper use and handling of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, and all required logging and monitoring forms and other paperwork
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
