Your Career
Palo Alto Networks is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Technical Program Manager to join our exciting, fast growing company. This dynamic individual will be the liaison between Software Engineering and Product Management with a focus on high quality, on-time successful releases. This position reports to the program leader for Next Gen Firewall team and is based at our headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.
Your Impact
- Drive and manage end to end HW Programs which include SW, HW Engineering and manufacturing operations. Lead the programs and releases from conception through release
- Working closely with the cross functional teams to manage large scale hardware project schedules including software deliverables, identifying risks and communicating them to project stakeholders
- Exercise independent judgment and recommendations that translate into a course of action
- Interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels including executives
- Develop and drive new processes, recommend tools or streamline existing processes
- Lead planning, execution, and delivery of large cross-functional HW initiatives
- Drive overall alignment of one source of truth
- Be the expert on release life cycle processes and champion process best practices, metrics and high quality standards with your delivery team
- Work with Product and Engineering stakeholders to identify & manage program/project dependencies & come up with an execution plan
- Provide clear, concise, transparent, and insightful status reporting to the team, executives, and a diverse set of stakeholders
- Lead efforts to resolve key project dependencies and establish appropriate resolution paths
- Strong focus on product quality of releases with massive, multi-billion-dollar install base.
- Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, innovation and learning
- Understand the systems in their program space, the limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons behind architectural decisions
Qualifications
Your Experience
- Experienced in driving large cross-functional programs.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and drive issues to resolution and escalate when necessary
- Understands and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty
- An expert in communicating and collaborating with cross-functional team members to achieve goals - contributes positively to the team and organization
- Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
- Proficient with applications, tools, and methodologies used to organize, manage, report progress, and deliver programs and projects
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- A proven track record of being highly productive
- Ability to successfully work across multiple levels of an organization
- Highly organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities concurrently
