The Inventory and Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of processes that support the manufacturing and movement of pharmaceutical products throughout the value chain. This role ensures accurate inventory management across the supply network and plays a crucial role in facilitating timely transactional activities, including goods receipts, issues, and product movements. As a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Planning & Inventory Operations, the manager leads the design and development of processes, creating process maps, process design documentation, and training materials. Additionally, they serve as stewards of master data, actively managing and promoting Master Data Management practices to ensure data integrity across the supply chain.


Key Responsibilities

Process Execution and Data Stewardship

  • Work with suppliers, manufacturers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and efficient execution of supply chain transactions across the value chain
  • Perform goods receipts, goods issues, transfers, and other goods movements in support of Supply Execution at external suppliers, warehouses and distribution centers
  • Works closely with the Quality team to ensure accurate product status for all inventory at third-party sites and assists in resolving any related issues
  • Conducts regular inventory audits and reconciles discrepancies between physical stock and records
  • Works closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate and correct inventory valuation throughout the value chain
  • Collaborates closely with Procurement and Logistics on status on inbound and outbound material and product inventory
  • Partners with the Planning team on product demand and scenario planning to manage inventory
  • Serves as the steward for Master Data Management supporting the flawless execution of Supply Chain process execution for inventory management

Process Subject Matter Expert (SME)

  • Oversee the end-to-end pharmaceutical supply chain process design as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME), across the Value Chain for inventory management
  • Develop Process Maps, Process Documentation, and Training materials supporting execution across Value Chain inventory processes
  • Create and own user training and development documentation supporting end user execution and ensure all users are trained and knowledgeable of all value chain inventory processes

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure adherence to pharmaceutical industry regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and other relevant compliance standards
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all inventory transactions, including receipts, shipments, and goods movements

Performance Reporting and Analysis:

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess inventory accuracy and management, and process performance across the value chain
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline inventory and supply chain operation to help ensure inventory availability, reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction

Continuous Improvement:

  • Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for improvement in supply chain and inventory management practices
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually enhance supply chain efficiency and inventory control

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred, with additional certifications in supply chain (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma, PMP)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, or supply operations within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Experience working with supply chain management software and ERP
