Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Specialist to support the General Authority Medical Team with care coordination, health navigation, and operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day functions by providing administrative support, managing communications, assisting with health care navigation, and contributing to operational efficiency. This position requires primarily in-office work to facilitate seamless collaboration with the team, the plan participants, our Church partners, and community providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative assistance to the GA team in coordinating health plan-related activities.
- Support operational processes to ensure efficiency and compliance with health plan procedures.
- Answer phone calls and provide information regarding claims status and benefits eligibility with professionalism and accuracy.
- Utilize Microsoft applications such as Excel and PowerPoint to generate reports, presentations, and documentation.
- Interface with provider offices to assist with health care navigation and coordination.
- Maintain organized records and track relevant health plan information.
- Offer excellent customer service to members, providers, and stakeholders.
- Adapt to new responsibilities as needed and demonstrate flexibility in learning new skills.
- Work onsite to ensure effective collaboration and responsiveness among team members.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in customer service, administrative support, or a related role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage phone inquiries regarding claims status.
- Ability to interface effectively with provider offices and assist with health care navigation.
- Organized, detail-oriented, with an ability to multitask.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a healthcare or insurance-related setting.
- Familiarity with health plan administration, claims processing, and operational coordination.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and provider interactions.
