Summary

The Technical Accounting Senior Program Manager will be a key member of the Chief Accounting Officer’s organization, reporting to the Global Accounting, Consolidations and Reporting Director. The individual will work with other departments within the finance and operations organization. The position requires a strong understanding of and working experience with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (“US GAAP”), SEC reporting requirements and IFRS. This role will be involved in the interpretation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements, technical accounting research projects, drafting new accounting policies and procedures, and revising existing policies and procedures as necessary for changes in US GAAP. Further responsibilities will include external reporting assistance and operational accounting activities. 

Job Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Interpret US GAAP, SEC, IFRS and other relevant accounting guidance to determine the accounting and financial reporting treatment for new, material, and/or complex or unusual transactions or agreements. Key topics include but are not limited to:
  • Revenue recognition, Derivatives and hedging, Leases, Accounting for debt and equity transactions
  • Follow emerging technical guidance and proactively analyze and document the impacts on the Company’s current accounting practices, controls and financial position. 
  • Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and rules. 
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate their review and sign-off on technical accounting matters. 
  • Provide assistance on various SEC and IFRS financial reporting tasks
  • Assist in reviewing other financial statements and reports and participate in special projects within the accounting function, as needed.
  • Perform operational accounting activities/reviews, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university or college. CPA certification required.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant professional level experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and SEC regulations and IFRS. Strong technical acumen, analytical and financial reporting skills. Excellent written and verbal skills. Strong organizational skills; manages own time to meet objectives; forecasts and plans resource requirements; must be able to multi-task.
