About the role
WORK LOCATION: Huntsville, AL or San Luis Obispo, CA SALARY RANGE: $50,000 - $80,000 FLSA STATUS: Exempt SUMMARY The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing essential financial, administrative and clerical support within the accounting department. Their role is primarily transaction-focused, with key responsibilities in treasury management and customer billing.RESPONSIBILITIESThe following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Record payments in the accounting software and initiate payments within the online banking platform
- Prepare and submit positive pay files to the bank
- Generate and process customer sales orders and invoices in an accurate and timely manner
- Perform bank deposits and apply customer payments to appropriate accounts in the accounting system
- Professionally execute customer collections efforts
- Collaborating with internal departments to collect, analyze and interpret financial data
- Assist in any necessary reporting
- Prepare month end reconciliations which include comparing subsidiary ledgers to the trial balance
- Maintain strict confidentially of all financial information
- Ensure accurate and efficient data entry and record-keeping practices
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software.
- In-depth knowledge of accounts receivable principles, cash management, accounting standards, and industry regulations standards.
- Experience in account reconciliation.
- Great time management and organizational skills.

- Additional hours may be required to support department due dates.
