About the role

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Evangelize the best practices in terms of configuration management principles and Continuous Integration and Delivery pipeline. Build and manage the deployment pipeline, empower engineering org with tools for validating service quality, scalability and performance. Define and enforce requirements to promote engineer effectiveness and productivity. Build tools library to up-level common tasks, documenting code and procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Building solutions to indicate application SLO/SLI’s using Prometheus and Datadog; building deployment pipelines with metric system integrated; building software solutions to visualize business data using Splunk or Instana telemetry with application log metrics; managing Google and AWS cloud infrastructure; designing solutions that automate the process of cloud infrastructure creation and destruction by receiving user inputs; designing distributed solutions using Kafka or Rabbit MQ streaming platforms; building applications that utilize JSON or XML formatted service payloads for data transfer; designing and building automated CI/CD pipelines using TeamCity or Jenkins; hosting and maintaining third party software such as Artifactory, or a similar software, on a cloud platform; hosting and maintaining application services in Google/AWS Kubernetes clusters, AWS Lambda/ECS, or EKS functions; designing and building telemetry and usage tracking solutions for BI tools to improve tool governance and monitoring; performing data manipulation, data structuring, data design flow, and query optimization using SQL or Python; developing software utilizing Spring and Spring Boot, and Maven or Gradle to resolve application dependencies; developing software or Microservices that are deployed as a REST API; building applications using a NoSQL database; continuous verification and validation through AI and ML. Also requires experience with: Agile SDLC; Docker; HTML; Junit; Manual Testing and Unit Testing; relational database management systems RDBMS such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle; Ansible.

Job Location: 3223 Hanover Street, Palo Alto, CA 94304. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.

Full-Time. Salary:  $260,000 - $260,000 per year.
