The Strategic Projects Manager will initiate and execute strategic projects aligned with Category Management to advance or create Industrial Business products or capabilities. This role involves taking an idea from conceptualization through market research, value definition, market testing, business case creation and approval, to a successful go-to-market strategy. This position requires strong independent motivation and collaboration with global teams across multiple functions.
Main Tasks
- Lead non-customer projects that build, enhance, or modify Industrial Business capabilities.
- Generate innovative ideas based on market needs identified in collaboration with Category Management.
- Conduct research on customer pain points, market trends, and upcoming regulations for assigned strategic projects.
- Develop business cases to expand the product portfolio and/or production footprint for the Industrial Business.
- Continuously monitor customer value creation and product desirability of strategic projects following the Growth Value Process (GVP).
- Work closely with stakeholders to align feasibility and assumptions in business cases, gaining their buy-in and support.
- Present business cases to top-level management to initiate project activities.
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for assigned strategic projects and monitor their success.
- Represent the voice of the customer in all aspects of strategic projects and collaborate with project managers after business case approval and project initiation.
- Work closely with Category Management to understand market and regional needs to meet 2030 Strategic Targets.
- Document detailed records when ideas are halted for future reference and development.
- Track all open strategic projects and provide regular updates to key internal stakeholders.
- Represent the Industrial segment on key OE and M+H Group projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Proactively offer feedback and ideas for process and capability improvements.
Your Profile
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in market research or project management.
- Proven track record in developing business cases for manufacturing projects.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the Filtration or Industrial market.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate value internally and externally, aiming for stakeholder support.
- Experience in leading and working with global and cross-functional teams.
- Strong self-motivation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with preference for experience in Microsoft Project.
- Experience working in Agile or start-up teams is preferred.
- Understanding of business financial terms.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Candidate can choose the location they want to work: Portage, MI; Raleigh, NC; or Gastonia, NC.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are preferred.
