What we are looking for

This role is seeking an entry to mid-professional with a proven track record in cell biology, cell culture, microscopy, and flow cytometry. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency of our experimental workflow and contributing to the establishment, development, and differentiation of cell lines.


Key Responsibilities

🧪Conducting Cell Culture Experiments: You will be responsible for performing various cell culture experiments, including the establishment and adaptation of cell lines, as well as optimizing cell media hand in hand with the analytical chemist/cell media formulation team

🔬Using Cell and Molecular Biology Techniques: You will apply a range of cell and molecular biology techniques, such as RT-qPCR, immuno-histochemistry, western blot and flow cytometry, to characterize the cells and monitor their differentiation progress.

🚀Protocol Development and Optimization: You will collaborate with the team to establish and optimize experimental protocols in different research areas, including characterization, differentiation, and cell culture. Your input will be crucial in enhancing the efficiency and scalability of our production processes.

👩🏻‍💻Documentation and Reporting: document experimental procedures, observations to ensure data integrity and traceability and prepare comprehensive reports that convey experimental findings, progress, and potential areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • PhD in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, biological engineering, or other life science discipline. You should have 5 to 10 years of experience in cell culture techniques. Ideally, you have expertise in establishing cell lines in different species, showcasing your ability to adapt and optimize protocols effectively.
  • Molecular Biology Techniques: Proficiency in common molecular biology techniques for cell characterization is crucial. Experience with PCR, RT-qPCR, and immunohistochemistry will enable you to analyze and assess the properties and behavior of the cells you work with.
  • Ability to maintain mammalian cell culture including isolation, expansion, and cryopreservation of cells
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize genetic engineering protocols to increase efficiency, reduce turnaround time or reduce cost
  • Experience leading projects and managing contract research relationships
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
  • Passion for the Mission: A genuine passion for Nūmi's mission to bring a better nutrition for babies around the world.


Bonus!

  • Familiarity with flow cytometry, cell differentiation, and/or tissue engineering is highly desirable. These skills would further enhance your contributions to our research and development efforts.
  • Knowledgeable about CMC and quality requirements
  • Postdoctoral studies or experience in a startup
  • Mass spectrometry, RNAseq, bioinformatics.. experience
  • French language
