Quality FLM (Front Line Manager) - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, Ohio
Responsibilities:
- Frontline supervisor for union represented inspection personnel with the ability to answer and support questions pertaining to both dimensional inspection and NDT.
- Assist in training for new hires and provide scheduled feedback during the probationary period.
- Liaison between the shop floor personnel and management.
- Ensure workforce is on task, working safely and efficiently to meet the operational goals of the organization.
- Effectively communicate when personnel performance is not meeting expectations or requires disciplinary action, formal write up, etc.
- Monitor employee attendance, time charging, and production records in SAP.
- Ensure all equipment is in working order and available to perform work, submitting maintenance requests as required.
- Problem solving or trouble shooting inspection processes, gaging issues, etc.
- Participate in production and scheduling meetings to ensure resources are in place to meet production needs.
- Schedule department resources and manage overtime to meet the production needs of the organization.
- Perform monthly surveillances to ensure inspections are being performed in accordance with approved procedures.
- Monitor production logs, data sheets, and other quality records for compliance with approved procedures.
- Ensure department housekeeping duties meet expectations.
- Provide weekend coverage as needed.
- All other duties and projects as assigned by Quality management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required. A technical certification or associate degree in business is a plus.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in dimensional inspection or NDT.
- Previous supervisor experience is preferred.
- SAP and Microsoft Office experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $97,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
