We are looking for an experienced leader to take on an exciting and challenging role of Senior Director, Identity and Access Management (IAM). The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the enterprise, relentlessly pursuing a secure and modern organization while positioning IAM to be a business enabler to the enterprise.This leadership role has high visibility across the organization and requires strategic engagement with many technology, risk, and business leaders. This individual will have a high degree of influence and partner closely stakeholders across the enterprise. This position is one of influence, impact, and transformation. It is also about recruitment, talent development, engineering excellence, and well-managed operations. This role requires a leader, capable of blending a bold vision with an ability to execute. They must win and sustain organizational support and be a great people leader that motivates and excites the team around their vision.
What You'll Do
- Provides strategic direction for, technical leadership of, and oversight of the engineering and operations teams, and related vendors, tools and processes for enterprise IAM, such as:
- Authentication
- Authorization and identity lifecycle management / identity governance and administration of directory services
- Privileged access management and vaulting
- Cloud IAM design and management
- Client \ Field Identity Management and authentication
- Provides strong technical leadership to guide teams on the delivery of key program deliverables, while driving well-managed operations for long term program sustainability.
- Aggressively and relentlessly identifies areas of opportunities for reduction of technical debt, and acceleration of process and technology automation.
- Ensure IdM systems and technologies enforce the security and compliant standards of the university and align with industry best practices.
- Align IAM security priorities with the organizations security strategy informed by current understanding of what IAM leaders are doing across the insurance and financial industries
- Implement identity governance capabilities, such as role-based access control (RBAC), entitlement management, and identity analytics, to manage risks, enforce least privilege principles, and improve compliance.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for IAM activities and proactively report to stakeholders on the performance of IAM operations, metrics, and the organization's risk posture. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance security and compliance.
- Stay informed about developments in Generative AI and other AI technologies, assessing their implications for IAM and IT infrastructure. Evaluate potential risks, benefits, and opportunities to enhance IAM strategies and processes through AI-driven solutions.
- Monitor and analyze IAM-related metrics, trends, and incidents to identify security gaps, mitigate risks, and optimize IAM operations, including incident response and threat detection.
- Continuously review and optimize IAM architecture to address evolving threats and business requirements, ensuring a future-proof IAM environment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of identity and access management best practices, including Zero Trust Architecture, Consumer-IAM, and non-human identity management
- Identifies areas of process improvements and executes on remediation.
- Partners with stakeholders in lines of business across Cybersecurity, Architecture, Tech and the business to understand business needs, desired business outcomes, provide education and position IAM as a critical business enabler.
- Develops, maintains and communicates IAM roadmaps.
- Supports negotiations on scope of work as well as manage work with outside vendors.
- Manage financial responsibility for ongoing costs to the organization.
