About the role

Responsibility

Summary:

Responsible for the overall management and direction of daily operations within the Podiatry practice. Ensures effective procedures that promote quality patient care, customer satisfaction, and strong financial performance. Serves as the primary liaison with internal departments, physicians, vendors, and insurance carriers to support accurate billing, efficient operations, and seamless delivery of services. Oversees staff, resources, and office workflow to maintain a professional, organized, and patient-focused environment.

 

Essential Job Functions:

(Maximum of the first 5 will be included in the performance appraisal)

 

Supervises the day-to-day activities of the Podiatry office, ensuring timely patient access, efficient workflow, and adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

 

Supervises and develops staff, including scheduling, payroll oversight, orientation, performance development, and recruitment/retention efforts to sustain a high-performing team.

 

Implements and maintains operational procedures that support quality patient care, accurate billing practices, cost-effective resource use, supply management, and vendor coordination.

 

Serves as the Epic Supervisor system lead, ensuring appropriate staff training, timely completion of end-of-month reports, and effective utilization of technology to support clinical and administrative operations.

 

Performs Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum:  High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred:   A.A.S in related field

License/

Certifications:

Minimum: BLS required through RQI.  Must successfully completed NYS approved course for podiatry x-ray within 1 year of hire.(NYS Podiatry Radiology Course for Unlicensed Persons (nysed.gov) or Radiology Course For Podiatric (unlicensed) Assistants (nyspma.org))   

Preferred: Certification obtained from a Medical Assistant School licensed by New York State preferred

Experience:

Minimum: 3–5 years of experience in physician practice operations. Experience with computerized patient scheduling and Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point.

Preferred:  Experience in outpatient registration, surgical scheduling, billing, and Workers’ Compensation regulations. Epic EMR system experience

Other:

Minimum: Demonstrates strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced medical office environment. Familiarity with maintaining efficient office systems and working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding is also required.
