Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Site Reliability

Location: Remote USA. This role can be performed anywhere from the United States.
The Role
The Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for building and maintaining cloud architectures that power GoPro’s subscription business and photo & video storage services. Behind every GoPro mobile app session and every automatic upload from a GoPro camera are compute, network, and data services that we operate for a global customer base.
From developing and maintaining infrastructure code in Terraform to building the next generation of developer platform tools, we enable the delivery of software that sets GoPro apart.
What You Will Do
- Support web services before they go live with activities such as production readiness reviews.
- Maintain the health of services once they are live by monitoring availability and latency metrics, log output, and container-level health signals.
- Participate in regular blameless postmortem investigation of outages and production problems to help continually improve service reliability.
- Perform scheduled or tactical operations to recover from faults in a wide variety of systems, for example Muti-AZ RDS failover, shifting request traffic across regions, or identifying and restarting failed Kubernetes service pods.
- Apply your analytical skills to problem resolution and continual improvement.
- Collaborate closely with a distributed team of talented Infrastructure Engineers to improve observability and availability against SLAs.
- Contribute to planning activities including agile story definition and work estimation.
- Contribute code changes to infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability tooling.
- Participate in an on-call rotation covering workdays and occasional weekends.
Skills We’re Excited About
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- At least 5 years professional experience operating customer-facing production systems at a significant scale.
- Proven track record of working in highly collaborative environments requiring clear communication, regular updates, and technical communication via code review and change management.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting full-stack web services.
- Demonstrable professional skills using most of the following technologies or their equivalents:
- Linux, Bash, Nginx, Terraform, Python, Ruby on Rails, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Datadog/New Relic/Sumologic, and AWS services including EC2 with Autoscaling, ALB, EKS, ECS, Spot Fleet, CloudWatch, CloudFront, RDS, Elasticache.

The pay range for this role is between $117,725 - $184,575. Actual pay within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including your residence location and prior work experience. Equity, benefits, and a discretionary bonus may be additio
