General Description and Classification Standards:
The Revenue Director II is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Tax Administration and Code Enforcement Division within the Office of Revenue. This position leads a team of revenue professionals and ensures the efficient processing and compliance of various business taxes and permits, including:
Occupational, Professional, Insurance, and Financial Institution Tax Certificates
Public Vending Permits
Excise Taxes: Tax by the Drink, Hotel/Motel Occupancy, Car Rental, Wholesale Malt Beverage, and Wholesale Wine/Liquor
The Revenue Director II will play a key role in aligning operational execution with strategic objectives, fostering a culture of collaboration, and driving continuous improvement across the division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of a team responsible for business tax processing, compliance, and administration.
Manage the full operational scope of the Tax Administration Division, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, ordinances, and internal policies.
Supervise the issuance, renewal, and compliance tracking of tax certificates and permits across a diverse range of categories.
Lead and develop the Code Enforcement Division, aligning its operations with broader tax compliance and enforcement strategies.
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements, including the adoption of new technologies and optimization of existing workflows.
Design and deliver training programs to enhance staff capabilities and ensure consistent application of regulatory and operational standards.
Prepare and present analytical reports, performance dashboards, and strategic updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Foster collaboration with internal departments, external agencies, and the public to resolve complex issues and enhance service delivery.
Serve as a subject matter expert on state and local tax codes, licensing requirements, and permitting regulations, providing guidance to staff and stakeholders.
Lead change management initiatives related to system development, modernization, and organizational transformation.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission and objectives of the Office of Revenue.
