Global Travel Manager

Wayfair is looking for a travel & procurement enthusiast to join our Strategic Procurement team that jointly manages upwards of $800MM in spend. The global travel manager will be responsible for end-to-end execution and management of the global travel program and policies. This program includes, but is not limited to, travel management companies, airlines, hotels, car rentals, ground transportation, and T&E booking/expense software. This role is ideal for an exceptional person who is passionate about the travel industry and has a strong desire to innovate and spearhead business improvements around travel.

This position will be based in our Boston, MA office. All Boston based corporate employees work in the office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office at least 4 days per week and have the option to work remotely 1 day per week.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor Travel Management Company performance, service levels and online booking tool (OBT) optimization
  • Make business and process efficiency recommendations on travel program and project activities in line with business goals and objectives.
  • Administer and monitor the travel policies, guidelines and spend to deliver efficient travel
  • Provide continuing evaluation and development of technology and systems in the area of travel plus expense reimbursement.
  • Cultivate or maintain working relationships with internal departments on a global scale to ensure travel processes and tools are known.
  • Maintain external supplier relationships to continue to ensure Wayfair is positioned as a preferred customer
  • Manage reporting with data inclusive of spend, travel metrics for in-policy/out-of-policy compliance, plus volume trends along with exception reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Manage the Corporate Travel Associate position

What You'll Need

  • 2+ years of travel management experience
  • Experience with travel systems (OBTs & Expense software)
  • Experience in spend analysis, market and benchmark analysis at a broad level
  • Experience communicating complex and actionable concepts at a senior executive level
  • Possess excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and the ability to apply sound judgment to complex business transactions
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
